Three people were killed while two others remain in critical condition after a private van rammed into two houses along the highway in Barangay Abuyon, San Narciso, Quezon, on Saturday afternoon. The tragic incident occurred at around 4 p.m.

According to a report from the San Narciso Municipal Police Station, the victims had come from the town proper and were on their way home to Abuyon when the accident happened.
For reasons yet to be determined, the van suddenly swerved and plowed into two houses situated along the roadside.
The impact was so strong that the van was left heavily damaged, while the two houses also sustained significant destruction.

A video of the aftermath showed victims lying on the ground, some lifeless, after being thrown out of the vehicle from the force of the collision.
Rescue teams immediately responded to the scene and rushed the injured passengers to the hospital.
Authorities identified the fatalities as Efren Belagosa, 45; Florencio Lumanglas, 62; and Merelyn Lumanglas, 57. Meanwhile, two other passengers are confined in critical condition.
Fortunately, none of the residents inside the houses struck by the van were harmed during the incident.
Police investigators are now conducting a thorough probe to determine the exact cause of the crash.
Authorities are looking into possible factors, including human error or mechanical failure, as they continue to gather evidence and statements from witnesses.
