The man was later identified with the help of residents.

Police arrested the suspect, known as alias "Paul,” a 26-year-old cook who lived a few meters from the scene.

He admitted to the killing, claiming that while they were riding the same tricycle, Jericho touched him inappropriately.

He said he invited Jericho to his house, but after the tricycle left, he stabbed him multiple times.

The victim’s family rejected the suspect’s account, saying Jericho was respectful and would never act in such a way.

Janine insisted that her brother disliked being touched by men and would not tolerate it.

Police recovered Jericho’s empty wallet in a grassy lot where the suspect had thrown it.

Authorities also learned that the suspect had been released from a drug rehabilitation center a few months ago after resisting treatment.

The suspect is now detained at the Lipa City Detention Center and is facing murder charges.
