According to Unang Balita on Tuesday, the suspect was arrested Monday night after threatening the woman, who reported the incident to the nearest police outpost.

Investigators revealed that the man owed the victim ₱20,000 but refused to pay. Instead, he intimidated her while posing as a cop.

When real police confronted him, he was wearing a police jacket with markings and carrying a radio.

“He was even wearing a police-marked jacket with a radio. When our officers asked for his ID, he claimed he was a cop,” said Police Captain Sherwin Revilla of Taguig Police Substation 10.
“But when asked for official documents like a PNP ID, he had none. Eventually, he admitted, ‘Sir, I’m not a police officer.’”

A search near his residence led to the discovery of an unlicensed handgun and a sachet of suspected shabu.

The suspect denied ownership of the items and claimed he never identified himself as a cop.

“I told them, ‘Let’s take a drug test. If I’m positive, fine.’ It’s unfair that the gun and dr&gs were just presented at the station like that,” he said in defense.

He will face charges of usurpation of authority, illegal possession of firearms, and possession of dangerous dr&gs. Inquest proceedings are set to follow.
