A man was arrested after fleeing with a stolen cellphone from a gadget shop.
The incident took place in Blumentritt, Sta. Cruz, Manila, on Friday morning.
In a video shared by TV5's 'Frontline Pilipinas Weekend,' the suspect was seen running through a busy street after committing the theft.
Based on police investigations, the suspect pretended to be a potential buyer and took advantage of the moment when the shop staff was distracted by another customer.

That's when the male suspect ran away with the stolen cellphone, that's reported to be worth 5,500 pesos.
The shop attendant screamed after the incident, which prompted some bystanders to also run to chase the suspect.
As fate would have it, a policeman was on patrol in the area, that's why the suspect was immediately arrested.
To his defense, the suspect said he was forced to steal because he had just been fired as a pork vendor in Manila.
He was supposed to go home to his province in Tarlac.
The suspect is now detained and he will be charged with robbery.

The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
