A man was caught on CCTV stealing a motherboard worth ₱11,000 from a computer shop in Barangay Maly, San Mateo, Rizal. Surprisingly, he was turned in by his own child after repeated thefts.

As reported by EJ Gomez onUnang Balita Wednesday, the footage from Saturday showed the suspect using a computer before scouting the area. He then opened his bag, climbed onto a chair, and took a component from an overhead shelf before leaving.
According to Jovy Dumagin Almanzor, mother of the shop owner, “Sa tuwing pupunta siya diyan, may bag nga siyang dala. Tapos mga, siguro mga 10 minutes pa lang, nagagalit siya sa mga bata, pinapalabas niya, ‘Magsipaglabas nga kayo riyan, ang ingay-ingay ninyo!’ mga ganu’n siya. Tapos maya-maya, lumalabas na rin siya kasi may motor siya.”
After noticing missing parts, her son installed a hidden camera.

They later discovered that the same man had stolen computer parts multiple times, with total losses estimated at ₱40,000.
Footage from a nearby shop showed the suspect selling stolen items. Barangay Maly investigator Marcelino Corpuz revealed that the ₱11,000 motherboard was sold for only ₱50.
Barangay officers arrested the suspect last Sunday, but he managed to escape during a conversation with the complainant.
The incident has sparked concern among local business owners, especially as the suspect had allegedly frequented the area under the guise of being a regular customer.
