According to a report from "Frontline Pilipinas," the teen was shot dead by one of the suspects after a brief struggle.

CCTV footage showed a man standing near an e-trike as a motorcycle with another man stopped across the road.

Moments later, the man suddenly grabbed the victim's cellphone. Without hesitation, the teen ran after the suspects and managed to grab hold of them, causing the motorcycle to topple over.

In the chaos, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot the teen, instantly taking his life.

Authorities have identified the shooter as a 27-year-old man, who has since been arrested and is currently detained at the police station.

However, the firearm used in the crime has not been recovered.

The other two suspects, both minors, have been placed under custody at Bahay Pag-asa, a facility for juvenile offenders.

Angel Palquiran, the sibling of the slain teen, has expressed her determination to pursue legal action against all those involved.

The senseless killing has sparked outrage among locals, with many calling for justice and better protection against rising street crimes.

Authorities continue their investigation to ensure all perpetrators are held accountable.

The shooting incident is claimed to be linked to alleged vote buying monitoring activities. Witnesses say the violence erupted after Benedicto reportedly fired upon volunteers of “Team Ugyon” who were monitoring alleged vote-buying activities outside a property associated with “Team Asenso.”

Still in other news, a 65-year-old man, Nestor Rensales, died after voting in Oas, Albay during the midterm elections. Rensales, a stroke survivor, felt dizzy and collapsed shortly after casting his vote at Oas South Central Elementary School, ABS-CBN reported. His wife shared that he insisted on voting despite the heat and early crowd, believing his vote still mattered. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
