Rizal, Cagayan Mayor Joel Ruma was reportedly shot by a sniper hiding in the mountain.

Based on investigations, Ruma was shot and killed by a sniper who was about 200 meters away from him.

In a report by TV 5's 'Frontline Tonight,' Ruma was standing beside the covered court of Illuru, Rizal, Cagayan for a photo opportunity.

It was also reported that the gunman would not have been able to get a good aim at the late mayor if he were seated or walking, based on the sniper’s estimated position.

That was why authorities were looking into the possibility that the gunman had an accomplice who was also working for the killed victim.

This possibility was taken into consideration because, allegedly, someone told the late mayor to stand on the location where he was shot.

Meanwhile, Cagayan Governor, Manuel Mamba offered a P1-M reward to anyone who could provide them with information that would lead to the arrest of the gunman.

The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
