A 9-year-old kid in General Santos City ended up lifeless after being electr*cuted.

In a report by GMA 7's 'State of the Nation,' the child was el*ctrocuted by a fence that had a live wire.

The fence was owned by a machine shop, which said they connected the live wire to the fence as protection against thieves.

According to the kid's parents, it was believed that the child climbed the fence while playing.

He was rushed to a hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

According to the barangay, connecting a live wire to a fence is strictly prohibited; that's why they have ordered for it to be removed.

The kid's family will no longer file charges against the fence owner who promised to take care of the expenses needed for the victim's burial.

They also promised that they would be removing the live wire on their fence.

In this case, the fence owner could face criminal charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicid* and possible violation of electrical safety laws for installing a live wire without proper precautions. The family of the victim may also file a civil case to claim damages for the child's death.
