Senator Imee Marcos has released a statement regarding the recent arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
In what appeared to be a press conference shared by ANC 24/7 on their YouTube channel, Senator Marcos expressed her sympathy for the former president.
It can be recalled that Duterte was arrested after the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued a warrant of arrest against him for crimes against humanity.
However, Senator Imee stated that she has not yet seen the warrant of arrest issued by the ICC following the former president's arrest.

"Nabigla ako sa pangyayari na inaresto si president Duterte. 'Di ako makapaniwala eh. Medyo nayanig ako masyado. Kawawa naman. Kawawa naman si presidente Duterte," said senator Imee.
When she was asked what was her reaction to the arrest as a friend of the former presiden, sen Imee said:
"Well, ang akin kasi. 'Di na tayo natuto. Gulo lang ang dulot nito. 'Di na tayo natuto, eto'ng paulit-ulit... Walang pakinabang sa mga naghihirap sa bayan ang banagayan ng politika," said senator Imee. "Parang naging siklo na tayo na ganito. Gumanda ba ang buhay natin dahil sa pamumulitika? Umasenso ba ang bansa? Hindi na tayo natuto."
