A man was taken into custody inside his gift shop in Abucay, Bataan.
Police officers, armed with a warrant of arrest, apprehended the suspect, who was also listed as the Top 5 most wanted in the province.
Authorities stated that he was arrested for allegedly failing to pay Social Security System (SSS) contributions and other government-mandated benefits for his employees.
He is set to face charges for violating the Social Security Act. The Social Security Act in the Philippines refers to Republic Act No. 11199, also known as the Social Security Act of 2018. This law governs the Social Security System (SSS), which provides social insurance benefits to private sector employees, self-employed individuals, and voluntary members.

The law ensures financial protection for members by providing benefits such as sickness, maternity, disability, retirement, death, and funeral assistance. It also introduced mandatory SSS coverage for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and allowed periodic increases in contributions to strengthen the SSS fund.
The SSS operates separately from the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), which covers government employees.
