Authorities have identified the boyfriend of Dr. Rajean Monnette Romualdez as a person of interest in the investigation into her tragic death, RMN DWNX Naga reported.

According to Police Lt. Col. Chester Pomar of the PNP Naga, the boyfriend was the last person allegedly seen with the Bicol Medical Center doctor before she was found dead inside a vehicle in Monterey Village, Concepcion Pequeña, Naga City.
Dr. Romualdez was discovered at around 4:20 p.m. with a gunshot wound to the head inside a parked vehicle.
Responding to the scene were personnel from Station 2 of the Naga City Police Office along with emergency medical technicians (EMTs) from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).

Following the discovery, Mayor Son Legacion released a statement expressing deep sorrow and directing authorities to conduct a thorough investigation.
He confirmed that Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) are actively working to uncover critical details surrounding the incident.
A case conference was also ongoing to determine the circumstances and possible motive behind the doctor’s death.
Mayor Legacion extended his condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Dr. Romualdez, urging the public to cooperate with authorities and provide any relevant information that could help resolve the case.
"Our prayers are with the bereaved family, and we assure them of our full support," the mayor stated.
As the PNP Naga continues its probe, updates on the case are expected in the coming days.
