59-anyos na rider, patay nang sumalpok kanyang motorsiklo sa isang kotse

- A 59-year-old rider died after his motorcycle hit a car in General Trias, Cavite

A man died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car on Arnaldo Highway, General Trias, Cavite early Monday morning

According to Police Captain Manuel Madlangbayan, the Public Information Officer of the General Trias Police Station, the deceased rider is a 59-year-old resident of Dasmariñas, Cavite.

"Meron pong motor na papunta pong (Barangay) Santiago, at yung kotse ay papunta po ng Monterey. And then along Arnaldo highway po ay biglaan na yung motor po ay lumipat ng linya at nasagi niya yung bumper ng kotse," Madlangbayan said.

"Yun pong driver ng motor ay dinala sa hospital, pero dahil sa sustained injuries sa ulo ay dineklara po siyang dead on arrival," he added.

According to the police, the victim's relatives and the 25-year-old car driver reached an agreement.

The police also have a reminder for riders to avoid such incidents.

He said that riders must not drive if they have drunk intoxicating drinks or if they are sleeping. It is also very important for them to wear a helmet always and to ensure that their speeds on the road are just right.

"Unang-una wag po magmaneho nang nakainom o inaantok. Pangalawa po ay laging magsuot ng helmet at dapat laging nasa tamang speed ng pagmamaneho. At panghuli, laging magsuot ang proper protective gear," said Madlangbayan.

In other news, a tricycle driver ends up in jail after attempting to bump a policeman at a Comelec checkpoint. The incident happened in San Marcelino, Zambales, where police authorities were conducting a routine Comelec checkpoint. According to Police Regional Office III Regional Director Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo, the tricycle driver acted suspiciously upon approaching said checkpoint. This prompted several police personnel to pursue the tricycle but instead of complying, it maneuvered recklessly, injuring a policeman in the process.

Still in other news, a family of three almost met a tragic end when the motorcycle they’re riding in fell down when a dog crossed its path. GMA Regional News shared a CCTV footage from an establishment nearby captured the incident. In the footage, one can see the motorcycle carrying the rider, a woman and a child traversing the designated motorcycle lane. All of a sudden, a dog crossed their path, sending all three of them tumbling down with one narrowly missed by the tires of a passing SUV.
