In a press briefing on Thursday, Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo said that a neighbor of the two police officers heard a gunshot on Feb. 3.
He then saw the victim already bloodied at the garage in their home.
The suspect allegedly shot the victim on the head.

The witness then called the police station and when he came back to the scene of the crime, he allegedly saw the suspect wife, holding a gun.
The victim, a police chief master sergeant stationed tat the Angeles City Police Office, was brought to the hospital but eventually succumbed.
“Na-confirm na rin po based po sa ating investigation na yung baril po na nakita sa tabi po ng pulis na napatay ay yung issued firearms po ng kaniyang asawang pulis,” said Fajardo.
“Na-inquest na po kahapon. Iniintay lang natin yung result ng ballistic examination to confirm na yung baril na nakita po sa tabi ng napatay na pulis ay siya mismong ginamit sa pagpatay po sa kaniya,” she also added.
One of the motives behind the killing of the police officer that the PNP is looking at is a problem in the marriage of the suspect and the victim.
The suspect, who has a rank of police staff sergeant assigned at the regional forensic unit was arrested.
The couple have three children, aged two to eleven.
