Five children, all cousins, tragically died after being trapped inside a house in Tondo, Manila.
In a report by 'Frontline Pilipinas' of TV 5, the children, age 8 to 15, were in their grandfather’s house on the third floor of a building when the fire broke out.
The door to the fire exit was locked, preventing them from escaping.
Two of the children were from Cavite and were visiting their grandfather’s house to celebrate the New Year.

It took almost 2 hours for the fire rescue team to extinguish the fire because of the way leading to the house was to narrow.
