The suspect on the murder of the Grade 12 student, 18-year-old Mae Fatima Tagactac has been identified by authorities.
He was identified as Lorben Cabugsan Larot, 43-year-old who is a native of Misamis Oriental.
CDN reported that Police Lieutenant Colonel Manolo Salvatierra identified the suspect through a report of a concerned citizen.
The two reportedly checked-in at a lodging house on Thursday, Sept. 19 at around 3 p.m.

Authorities also unearthed another CCTV from another civilian, which showed the suspect's face clearly.
On Sept. 21, authorities went to the place where the suspect was reportedly staying, near Pier 1 in Cebu but he was no longer there.
It was only his common-law partner who was there, whom they also invited to the police station.
A regionwide manhunt is already ongoing, Sunstar reported.
