Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte recently expressed his anger towards Police Regional Director Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III in a strongly-worded outburst.

During a vlog, the mayor said, "Ang sarap sampalin nitong tao na ito. Kung makikita ko ito, sasampalin ko talaga ito," indicating his intense frustration and willingness to take physical action.

The source of Duterte's ire is rooted in Torre's decision to replace 19 station commanders in the city and remove the former police director.

Sebastian “Baste” Zimmerman Duterte is a Pinoy politician and the current vice mayor of Davao City. Born on November 3, 1987, Baste is the youngest son of President Rodrigo Duterte with his ex-wife, Elizabeth Zimmerman. He won as Vice-Mayor of Davao City during the 2019 elections. His sister, Sara Duterte is the Vice President of the Philippines. Baste attended high school at the San Beda University, where he obtained his diploma. He then took up political science at the Ateneo de Davao University.

In a previous report by KAMI, Baste Duterte withdrew his Certificate Of Candidacy (COC) for vice-mayor of Davao City. The younger Duterte went to the city’s COMELEC office earlier today and initiated the withdrawal. Mayor Sara Duterte, who withdrew her COC for Mayor of Davao City said Baste will run in her stead. Reports cited the incumbent vice-mayor saying that he is withdrawing his candidacy upon instructions of his sister, Mayor Sara Duterte.

Earlier, Vice Mayor Baste Duterte voluntarily underwent home quarantine and has been listed as a “person under monitoring.” Mayor Sara Duterte said that her brother Baste showed coronavirus disease (COVID-19) symptoms. She added that Baste came from Manila three weeks ago before he manifested the symptoms. Baste has yet to undergo the test because of the limited supplies of COVID-19 test kits.
