Police: Catherine Camilon, maaaring patay na ayon sa witnesses

- Catherine Camilon, a beauty queen and a public school teacher, has been missing for three months already

- Region 4-A’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) deputy Maj. Nilo Morallos gave an update on the case

- According to Morallos, certain witnesses stated that Camilon might be dead already

- Nonetheless, both the authorities and family members are still hoping for the best

Miss Grand Philippines 2023 candidate Catherine Camilon of Batangas has been missing since October 2023.

In a report by Faith Argosino of the Inquirer, Region 4-A’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) deputy Maj. Nilo Morallos said in a press conference that Camilon might already be dead, based on statements given by certain witnesses. However, both the authorities and family members are still hoping for the best.

“We are hoping for the best, but we are expecting the worse. Hindi po namin masabi kung wala na po talaga, pero base po sa account ng witnesses namin it appears na ‘yun na nga po, na patay na po,” Morallos stated.

GMA News also reported that PRO 4A chief Police Brigadier General Paul Kenneth Lucas announced the dismissal of Police Major Allan De Castro, the main suspect in the disappearance of Camilon. De Castro and the beauty queen were allegedly having an affair before the latter’s disappearance.

“Today, I would like to announce the dismissal of Police Major Allan de Castro from the PNP service effective January 16, 2024, signed by me, following an extensive investigation conducted by our Regional Internal Affairs Service 4A,” Lucas said at a press conference.

Previously, Miss Grand Philippines contestant Catherine Camilon has been reported missing since October 12. Her sister Chin-Chin Camilon took to Facebook to ask for help in finding the beauty queen-teacher. Chin-Chin also shared an image showing details about her missing sibling, sharing that she is 26 years old, with a height of 5’6.” She then uploaded an image of Catherine’s vehicle and its plate number.

In another report, Catherine’s sister, Chin-Chin Camilon, expressed her great concern and love for the missing beauty queen and teacher. Chin-Chin also wrote a message to Catherine telling her to come home and surprise their mom, who was celebrating her birthday that day. The sister also shared that many people are extremely worried about Catherine since it is unusual for her not to message her family about her whereabouts.
