Pres. Bongbong Marcos has already signed the executive order that allowed the voluntary use of face masks in an outdoor setting.

Press Sec. Trixie Cruz-Angeles, in GMA News' report revealed that PBBM signed E.O. No. 3, allowing for such changes in health protocols.

She explained though that this must be in non-crowded places, and minimum public health standards must still be observed.

"Naglabas po tayo (We issued) today ng Executive Order No. 3, allowing voluntary wearing of face masks in outdoor settings and reiterating the continued implementation of minimum public health standards during the state of public health emergency relating to the COVID-19 pandemic," said Angeles in a press briefing.

Angeles reminded everyone that seniors and immunocompromised individuals must still wear face masks even outdoors.

Rappler reported that the EO was the last step in making the new policy after PBBM approved verbally the IATF recommendation the previous week.

As per ABS-CBN, the EO shall take effect immediately upon publication in the Official Gazette.

Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, also popularly known as BBM or PBBM, is a Pinoy politician who is the 17th President of the Philippines. He is famous for being the only son of the late President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos. He served as Ilocos governor from 1998 to 2007 and then as congressman after stepping down as governor.
