Cebu Pacific, through its Vice President for Flight Operations Captain Sam Avila apologized to Vice President Leni Robredo for the "speculative and careless" post of one of its pilots, saying that the said pilot is already on disciplinary review.
It can be recalled that the pilot alleged that VP Leni caused flight diversions.
Capt. Avila underscored that the pilot admitted that his post or claims had no basis and that it was "mere speculation."
"Since becoming aware of the social media post by one of our pilots in reference to a flight of Vice President Leni Robredo, I confirm that the pilot has made it clear to us that he had no basis for his claim and was purely speculative and careless on his part," said Avila in a statement released by the company on social media.

Capt. Avila apologized without reservations to VP Leni and to the general public.
"While the pilot posted his commentary on his own accord, a post he has since removed, on behalf of Cebu Pacific, and as Head of our Pilot Group, I take command responsibility and apologize unreservedly to the Vice President and the general public for the actions of our pilot."
The pilot is also under disciplinary review in accordance with the rules of the company.
VP Leni Robredo is the incumbent vice president of the Philippines. She is a human rights lawyer. Her husband was the late DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo. They have three daughters, namely, Aika, Patricia, and Jillian.
VP Leni Robredo and her three daughters, Aika, Tricia, and Jillian previously were on their way to New York. She took to her IG Stories and shared a short clip taken on the plane. They will be attending the graduation of Jillian from New York University. The VP also poked fun at Tricia for having slept at the airport.
Jillian Robredo took to Twitter and shared the "blessings" that she got when she landed in New York. She took a short video clip of NCT 127, a boy band from South Korea. One of their popular songs was "Gimme Gimme." Earlier, Frankie Pangilinan tweeted about Jill, who sent her photos of the said boy band after casually seeing them in New York.
