The video of perhaps thousands of fish that appeared to be in a race to board the deck of a boat has gone viral.

In the footage shared by netizen Flord Nicson Calawag, thousands of fish, which were later reported by ABS-CBN as sardines, jumped out of the water and landed on the deck.
According to the report, several fishermen were tending to a huge net that they are dragging in front of them when suddenly, their rear erupted with activity.
Soon, thousands of sardines “rained” down on their boat, to the fishermen’s delight.

The report also quoted fishermen saying that perhaps the sardines were being chased by huge fish like Spanish mackerel, barracuda, and other big varieties of fish.
Antique, the report says, is part of the Cuyo East Passage, which is a migratory route for different varieties of fish.
The same passage has also been dubbed as a tuna highway.
Antique is one of the provinces situated on the Panay Island. The other provinces are Iloilo, Aklan, and Capiz. The surrounding waters of the island teem with fish, which is why fishing is among the major industries there. Capiz, one of the provinces in Panay, has even been called the seafood capital of the Philippines because of its seafood industry.
Viral stories like these often catch the attention of those who frequent social media. Some of the stories, however, are not good news. Among such viral stories was that of the case of Jonel Nuezca, a police officer who shot an elderly and her son. It started from an altercation over a property dispute. The police officer was arrested and languished in jail. Later, he was sentenced and eventually, he died while being incarcerated. The case of Nuezca was among the hottest issues on social media for quite a long time.
Another story that has gotten the attention of many social media users was the case of Jang Lucero. She was a beautiful lady Grab driver who was found dead in her car. The injuries that she sustained denoted that she underwent suffering. Justice was somewhat elusive for Jang and her family back then.
