New ‘Eat Bulaga’ host Paolo Contis was a special guest on ’The Boobay and Tekla Show’ on GMA. During the interview, Boobay and Tekla found out that Paolo sent private messages to both Vic Sotto and Joey De Leon, the original hosts of ‘Eat Bulaga.’

According to Paolo, he sent a private message to Vic through the latter’s wife, Pauleen Luna. He also sent a private message to Joey, who Paolo described as his “kumpare.”

Paolo told Vic and Joey through the private messages that he meant no offense in accepting the job as a new host on ‘Eat Bulaga.’ He also told them about his desire for a chance for them to sit down and talk to each other heart-to-heart.

He added that there is no reason for him and the original ‘Eat Bulaga’ hosts to have personal animosity since the new hosts are only doing their jobs.

“Nung tinanggap ko yung trabaho sa 'Eat Bulaga,' para sa akin importante na makapagpasintabi ako lalo na sa mga naging close ko.

”Of course sa akin trabaho yun, kailangan kong gawin. So, nagpasintabi ako kay Bossing (Vic Sotto) through Pauleen (Luna), nag-message ako kay Pauleen.

“Si Tito Joey (De Leon) kasi, kumpare ko. So nag-message ako sa kanya para magpasintabi lang, letting him know na I meant no disrespect and hopefully, we can talk eventually.

“Sa akin, importante lang na alam nya yung nasa puso ko. Regardless kung nagreply sya or not, meron akong kaibigan na nakausap nya, nalaman ko na somehow okay sya doon. Alam niyang trabaho lang.

“Honestly, wala ako makitang reason, on a personal level, bakit kami hindi magiging okay kasi wala naman kaming ginagawa na idisrespect sila. I would love to work with Tito, Vic, and Joey. Maliit lang ang showbiz,” Paolo shared.

Eat Bulaga is the longest-running noontime program in the world. Its hosts, including Vic Sotto, Tito Sotto, Joey De Leon, Maine Mendoza, and others announced last May 31 that they are separating from TAPE Inc., the company that produces the show. It is not yet clear as of this writing if the hosts will take the Eat Bulaga title with them to another network or if TAPE Inc. will keep the iconic name.

In other news, Maine Mendoza also took to social media and shared a heartfelt post about “Eat Bulaga.” On her online page, Maine uploaded some photos taken at the show’s studio. Along with the photos, the TV host penned a message to Dabarkads and to the noontime program.

Meanwhile, Alden Richards shared a stirring photo of himself at the noontime program's studio. Ryan Agoncillo, one of the show's hosts, took the said photo of Alden. Along with the pic, Alden wrote a short but heartfelt caption.
