Liza Soberano’s former talent manager, Ogie Diaz, was accused by some netizens of not doing anything for his talents and just getting commissions from them.

Those accusations surfaced after Liza made a vlog that she separated from Ogie as her talent manager because she could not pursue her own vision for her career while being under his management.

On Facebook, Ogie bravely lectured his bashers by enumerating how difficult it is to be a talent manager.

Aside from mapping the career of the artist and coordinating with people to get new projects and endorsements, Ogie shared that a talent manager also has to fulfill the role of being a second parent and friend to the artist.

Ogie said that a talent manager helps his talents deal with personal and private issues for free. A talent manager also has to find ways to resolve troubles and disputes that the artist gets into, Ogie explained.

“Akala n’yo, madaling mag-manage ng talents? Ay, hindi po. Apakahirap. Para kang buntis. Binubuo mo pa lang sa iyong sinapupunan, iniisip mo na ang future niya.
“Hindi ka lang basta manager — nanay, tatay, kapatid, kaibigan ka din nila. Ibig sabihin, pati personal nilang buhay, kailangan mong gabayan — nang walang komisyon. Nang labas na sa trabaho mo bilang talent manager.

“Pag napapa-trouble sila sa labas, kailangan ka nila. Di pwedeng di mo sila samahan kahit wala ka namang kinalaman. Pag nasasangkot sila sa isyu na sila rin ang may gawa, dahil manager ka, troubleshooter ka din.
“Akala ng ibang mga mema, kuha lang nang kuha ng komisyon ang talent manager.

Liza Soberano is a Fil-Am actress, singer, endorser, and model. She has starred in various TV series and movies, which include 'Forevermore,' 'Dolce Amore,' and 'Bagani,' among others. She is currently in a relationship with her on-screen partner, Enrique Gil.

In a previous report, Liza's manager, Ogie Diaz, also gave his statement on the actress' 'This is Me' video which she posted online. Ogie reminded the actress that her screen name, Liza Soberano, is the name that supported her family. He also clarified that contrary to the claims of the actress in her recently posted video, she was given the opportunity to speak as regards the projects she liked and didn't like. In the end, however, Ogie said that he hopes Liza's 'shine' would return.
