The actor opened up about his decision during Mang Inasal's Ihaw Fest 2026 at Ayala Malls Feliz, where the food brand also celebrated its 10th year of working with him as an endorser.
He recalled how several companies ended their partnerships with him following a controversial fashion show appearance. During the event, he was seen holding a rope attached to a woman performing an acrobatic routine as part of a circus-themed presentation.
He explained that he had no intention of doing anything inappropriate and was unfamiliar with the concept's direction.

“Wala naman akong idea do’n dahil ang direktor namin do’n, Canadian.
As the controversy intensified, Mang Inasal remained among the few brands that continued supporting him.
That experience influenced how he evaluates opportunities, particularly those that require him to associate his reputation with a product or service.
“Ang kapalit kasi no’n, ‘yong pangalan ko, eh,” he explained.
Coco disclosed that he rejected a major offer from a gaming platform despite the amount of money involved.
“Talagang kahit gaano kalaking amount, tinanggihan ko kasi sabi ko, hindi ‘yon kasi ‘yong values ko bilang tao, eh, hindi ‘yon ‘yong maibibigay ko,” he said.
He added that he did not want his endorsement to encourage something that could negatively affect other people's lives.
The actor maintained that he would rather accept fewer opportunities while remaining true to his principles.
