Richard Yap has revealed that much of the money he earns from show business goes toward his business ventures rather than simply being kept as savings.

The actor opened up about his approach to handling his earnings during an interview with Melai Cantiveros on Kuan on One. According to an English translation of his remarks, Richard said he has chosen to put most of what he earns back into businesses.

"Most of what I earn, I really put in the business. I partnered with others for my restaurant and then I opened my own office furniture business," he said.

"But having a business is tough. Sometimes, you constantly have to put money into it so you also need to know which ventures to invest in and which ones not to because you can lose your earnings," he relayed.

His remarks highlighted the importance of being selective when investing money, particularly because business ventures can require continuous financial support. For Richard, earning money is only part of the process, as knowing where to put it can also determine whether an investment succeeds or results in losses.

The actor also shared that his daughter has developed her own entrepreneurial path, although her work differs from his business ventures.

"My daughter is also a businessman but she's more of an influencer, content creator and she became No. 1 affiliate for a brand," he relayed.

Beyond finances and entrepreneurship, Richard also looked back on what his showbiz career has given him. He said working in entertainment allowed him to encounter opportunities that extended beyond his own career.

"I felt like it opened many opportunities for me. And then it's a good path because we're able to give back to others in return," the actor highlighted.
