Gee Canlas opened up about the lessons she learned following her separation from Archie Alemania, sharing how the experience changed the way she views self-worth, silence, and standing up for herself.

Gee discussed her separation from Archie in March 2026 during her appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda. Months later, on August 29, Ogie Diaz asked her about her next steps and whether she was considering filing for annulment.

Gee chose not to disclose details about that aspect of her personal life.

"Siguro for that I'd rather not talk about that in terms of my personal life."

Instead, she focused on the changes she has made since the breakup and the personal lessons she gained from the experience.

"I've been taking steps. I've been loving myself more. I've been finding myself in the smallest joy... Now I know I would never change myself again to make someone stay with me or love me," she shared.

Gee also explained why she agreed to speak about what she had gone through. Since publicly identifying herself as a solo parent, she said she had received numerous messages from people who were experiencing situations similar to hers.

"Kaya ako nagsasalita kasi there are so many other people since I came out na I'm a solo parent, so many people have messaged me who are going through the same situation that I did," Gee said.

She then encouraged people who may be facing difficult circumstances in their marriages to recognize their worth and have the courage to leave situations where they are no longer being treated properly.

"I just want to tell them na sobrang possible to get the courage. Stand up for yourself. Know your worth. Leave. If nakikita mo na hindi ka naaalagaan nang tama. Umalis ka. Alagaan mo ang sarili mo," she said.

One of Gee's biggest realizations involved her decision to remain silent about their situation. She acknowledged that she had largely avoided discussing it on social media before.

"If there's one thing na na-realize ko, ngayon lang, I think being silent. Because that's what I've been doing on social media. I've never talked like this ever. Ever. Being silent like this to him or in our situation is not always good. Sometimes it neglects the truth and protects the lies," she explained.

For Gee, much of her decision to move forward is also connected to her son. She said she wants him to grow up understanding how women should be treated and cared for.

"I want my son; this has always been about my son. I want him to know a real example of how to treat a woman, how to care for a woman."

Gee further emphasized the importance of protecting one's self-worth and holding on to one's value despite painful experiences.

Gee Canlas is a Filipino actress and host who made early media appearances on Be Bench: The Model Search and The Amazing Race Philippines before starring in films like Resureksyon and Sana Dati. Off-screen, she is a mother and fitness advocate who competed as a top 20 finalist in the Century Tuna Superbods 2026 competition.

She shared that she eventually stayed at her parents’ house after an alleged incident in which Archie reportedly broke two of her ribs. Gee also spoke about the difficulties they encountered in communicating with each other and the conflicts that repeatedly affected their relationship. She had previously confirmed that they were already separated, while Archie maintained that their marriage should have ended earlier.

Meanwhile, Archie Alemania continued to deny that he ever touched Rita Daniela without her consent. He maintained that he would never sexually violate a woman and reflected on his history of friendships and relationships with women. Archie also said he has chosen to forgive Rita and would rather leave the matter to God.
