Former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Andi Abaya has officially completed her college degree after navigating years of interruptions, demanding school requirements, and responsibilities in showbiz.

Andi earned a Bachelor of Science in Advertising Management from De La Salle University in Manila. She opened up about her journey during the sidelines of the finale viewing party for Miss Behave, where she reflected on the challenges she faced while pursuing her degree.
Her college journey took an unexpected turn when she entered the Pinoy Big Brother house during her freshman year. She joined PBB Connect amid the pandemic and had to take a leave of absence from school.
"It's very fulfilling kasi when I started college, kasi during my freshman year, that was when I joined PBB. So I had to take an LOA (Leave of Absence)," she shared.

Andi said the decision resulted in a significant delay in her studies.
"I skipped siguro almost two academic years. So na-delay talaga ako sa school. So I'm really happy na natapos ko na 'yung college ko," she added.
She eventually returned to school in 2022, determined to fulfill a childhood dream of earning a degree and pursuing advertising.
"I mean, it's been a lifelong dream since I was young na makapagtapos, have a degree, and pursue advertising. And ayun, I did it for my parents also. They worked really hard para pag-aralin ako sa isang maayos na eskuwelahan," she said.
Despite returning after a lengthy break, Andi found the adjustment manageable, partly because classes at DLSU were still conducted in a hybrid setup. She also credited her personality and support system for helping her navigate the transition.
"I've always been an introvert, so parang I think I found solace in being alone," she said.
She also expressed gratitude for friends who supported her despite not being part of her original batch.
"I'm grateful na I met great friends kahit hindi ko sila ka-batch. I had friends from high school na nakasama ko rin noong bumalik ako, like 'yung mga double degree kong friends," she added.
Balancing academics with an acting career, however, proved to be much more demanding. Andi initially limited her academic load and later overloaded some terms to stay within her target timeline.
"How did I juggle? Umiyak ako nang maraming beses," she said.
She also had to make difficult professional decisions, including turning down projects when school responsibilities took priority.
"And of course, tinanggap ko na rin 'yung fact na there are times I have to compromise and sacrifice. I have to be absent or I have to decline some projects also para sa school. So, 'yun, it was a compromise," she added.
Now that she has graduated, Andi is ready to give showbiz her full attention. She remains interested in advertising, but acting is currently her priority.
"As of now, since maluwag na 'yung schedule ko, I really wanna commit to showbiz muna. I wanna give my all for acting ngayon. I still have my goals and dreams in terms of pursuing advertising. But ngayon, since mas makaka-commit na ako sa maraming projects, lalo na nabigyan ako ng Miss Behave," she said.
Her role in Miss Behave has also encouraged her to explore more diverse characters.
"I was given a different role. Parang it made it possible for me to think na, 'Oh, I can, I can play, like, different characters – not the usual from the past few years.' So, I really wanna keep doing showbiz muna and give it a shot. And let's see, let's see if the stars align for me. Hindi naman mawawala 'yung Advertising, hindi naman mawawala 'yung degree ko," she shared.
Andi Abaya (born Andrea Dennise Lim Abaya on January 8, 2002) is a Filipino actress, model, and television personality who first rose to fame as the 2nd Big Placer on Pinoy Big Brother: Connect. Managed by ABS-CBN's Star Magic, she has since starred in various television series and films, including Huwag Kang Mangamba, Love in 40 Days, and Connected.
