During his appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on Monday, August 10, Dennis shared that Calix has already been expressing his interest in pursuing a career in entertainment. According to the actor, his son has even begun asking about possible workshops and voice lessons.

“Gusto niya, mahilig din siya. Ngayon, tinatanong niya ako kung puwede raw siyang mag-workshop at voice lessons. Sabi ko, 'Sige, gawin natin 'yan kapag wala kang school,'” said Dennis.

Dennis’ support comes as Calix continues to balance his interests outside entertainment, particularly his passion for fencing. Now that his son is already 18, the actor said he also wants to make sure that Calix does not rush into adulthood and instead takes time to enjoy his life.

Aside from discussing Calix’s career plans, Dennis also opened up about his son’s personal life. He revealed that Calix currently has a girlfriend and said he considers the relationship to be his son’s most serious one so far, particularly because Calix has already introduced her to their family.

With this in mind, Dennis reminded his son to be cautious, especially as young people can sometimes make impulsive decisions.

“Mag-iingat, palagi, dahil siyempre Tito, 'yung mga bata ngayon, mapupusok. Minsan hindi natin alam 'yung mga ginagawa nila, so mga paalala lang talaga 'yung magsisilbing reminder,” Dennis said.

The actor then shared one particular experience from his own life that he hopes Calix will approach differently. Dennis said he does not want his son to have a child before he is emotionally and practically prepared to handle the responsibilities that come with parenthood.

“Gusto ko prepared at siguradong kaya niyang panindigan lahat ng responsibilities kapag nangyari 'yun. Pinaghahandaan,” said Dennis.

For Dennis, supporting Calix’s dreams goes beyond simply allowing him to enter showbiz. His guidance also reflects his desire to help his son make careful decisions as he navigates adulthood.

As Calix explores the possibility of becoming an actor, he now has his father’s experience to rely on, with Dennis himself ready to step in and help him prepare when the right time comes.
