Esnyr Ranollo and Bianca De Vera revealed that their friendship began long before their time inside the Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition house, with the pair looking back on an unexpected encounter that ultimately brought them closer.

During the Star Magic Spotlight press conference, Bianca shared that she and Esnyr had already known each other for more than five years before they both entered show business.
“Nakakatuwa kasi ang haba na rin pala talaga ng journey natin as friends. Kasi actually, Esnyr and I met before pa kami both naging artista. Like, matagal na talaga. More than five years ago,” Bianca said.
She then invited Esnyr to recount how they first met. After making sure Bianca was comfortable with him telling the story, Esnyr recalled that their first encounter happened at a club when they were still younger and eager to explore.

“ Nag-meet kami sa club. Siyempre, noong mga bata pa kami, we wanted to explore, ganyan,” Esnyr said.
The encounter became memorable when a foreign man approached Bianca and tried to persuade her to leave with him. Esnyr recalled that both of them became uneasy as the situation unfolded.
“And then, siyempre, kasama na 'yun sa mga first meet namin ni Bianca, isa sa mga hindi ko makakalimutan na nag-strengthen ng bond namin ni Bianca together. Siyempre, 'di ba, ako polo-polo nga ako dati. Tapos, may isang afam doon sa Palace na nag-hit up sa kanya,” he said.
Esnyr admitted that he initially did not know how to respond because he and Bianca were not yet particularly close at the time.
“So siyempre sabi ko, 'Ano'ng gagawin ko?' Kasi parang hindi pa kami super close ni Bianca, ganyan,” he said.
However, after noticing that Bianca was already uncomfortable, Esnyr decided to intervene. He recalled pretending to be her boyfriend so she could get away from the situation.

“Tapos nakita ko kay Bianca na uncomfortable na talaga siya. Kaya nag-step up ako doon. Naglalakihan ako. Sabi ko, 'Babe, let's go,'” Esnyr said.
Bianca remembered the incident just as vividly, particularly because Esnyr went beyond simply pretending to be her partner and confronted the man.
“Hinamon niya pa 'yung lalaki, sabi niya, 'Oh, she's with me, bro,'” Bianca said.
For Bianca, Esnyr’s unexpected gesture became one of the moments that cemented their friendship. She said the incident remains unforgettable even years later.
“Ganoon pa siya. Sabi ko, 'Grabe!' So doon talaga nag-strengthen 'yung bond namin. Hinding-hindi ko 'yun makakalimutan,” she shared.
The story also became connected to one of Esnyr’s most recognizable online characters. Bianca jokingly pointed out that the encounter was where “Bogart,” one of Esnyr’s viral skit personas, was born.
“At doon na ipinanganak si Bogart,” Bianca added.
“Yes, doon na ipinanganak si Bogart,” Esnyr agreed.
Looking back, Esnyr admitted that he never expected the situation to become such a defining moment in their friendship.
“Grabe, wala 'yun sa bingo card na isi-save ko si Bianca from a random na afam,” he said jokingly.
Despite the unusual circumstances surrounding their first meeting, the experience eventually brought the two closer. What began as an unexpected encounter at a club became a lasting friendship that continued through their respective journeys in show business.
“Grabe, kaya ayun. Parang mas naging close po kami ni Bianca. And years later, we're here,” Esnyr added.
