Awra Briguela confirmed that the cases stemming from the 2023 brawl incident in Makati have been dismissed, saying the matter has long been settled and that she has taken accountability for her actions.

During her interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Friday, August 7, host Boy Abunda asked Awra about the incident that happened at a bar in Poblacion, Makati.
“Ikuwento mo lang ang kaya, ikuwento mo lang ang pwede, ano ang nais mong sabihin tungkol doon sa naganap sa bar na 'yon sa Poblacion noong 2023? At alam natin din na ito'y naayos na. Just tell us what you can,” the veteran talk show host asked.
In response, Awra said the incident was already in the past and that the cases filed in connection with it had been dismissed. She also shared that she spent nearly a year dealing with the case.

“‘Yung nangyari po no'n is matagal na pong tapos, and 'yung mga cases po, dismissed na, and halos isang taon ko pong hinarap 'yung kaso.”
Awra then spoke about how she handled the aftermath of the incident, saying she personally apologized to everyone involved and took responsibility for what happened.
“And humingi po talaga ako ng tawad sa lahat po ng involved privately at nag-take po talaga ako ng accountability.”
The actress also revealed that moving forward from the incident was not immediate. She said it took her more than a year to process what happened and begin moving on from the mistake.
“And it took me more than a year para talaga maka-move on and para mag-start ulit sa pagkakamaling nagawa ko na 'yon.”
Awra Briguela is a Filipino actress and comedian who first captured national attention after being personally chosen by Coco Martin to portray MakMak in the long-running action-drama series “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.” Her energetic personality and impressive talent later earned her even more recognition when she emerged as the grand champion of the first season of “Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids,” further establishing her place in the Philippine entertainment industry.
In the same interview, Awra became emotional while discussing the lasting impact of online hate over the controversial bar incident. She admitted that moving forward has been difficult, but said her family continues to give her strength. Awra also asked the public to remember that she was only 19 at the time and has been working to become a better person.
Awra also gave an update on her mother, who was recently diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. Awra said their family now has a better understanding of her mother’s condition and treatment.
