Kapuso actor Kelvin Miranda has opened up about the lingering pain he continues to carry months after losing his father, Patricio Miranda, in a vehicular accident.

During a recent guest appearance on "Ogie Diaz Inspires," Kelvin was asked whether he had already forgiven the driver involved in the tragic incident. Instead of giving a direct yes or no answer, the actor admitted that one particular experience left a lasting impression on him.

"Sa totoo lang, Mama Ogs, nabastusan po ako sa kanila. Hindi ko masabing hindi ako marunong magpatawad," he said.

Kelvin recalled that his disappointment began when he first encountered the driver at the police station shortly after the accident. According to him, despite trying to remain respectful because the driver was already elderly, he could not ignore what he felt was a lack of genuine remorse.

"Kapapasok ko lang sa presinto, katatapos lang ng nangyari, ng insidente, pero ‘yong nakabunggo kasi sa erpat ko may edad na rin. So may galang pa rin naman akong makipag-usap, kaya lang parang habang nagsasalita siya…medyo wala siyang sympathy."

The actor admitted that emotions nearly got the better of him during that tense encounter. He confessed that many thoughts crossed his mind as he faced the man he believed was responsible for the tragedy.

"Puwede kong gawin lahat ng gusto kong gawin sa kaniya noong mga oras na ‘yon, lalo na’t pumintig ang tenga ko sa kabastusan niyang sumagot."

Despite his anger, Kelvin said he managed to compose himself after remembering the lessons his father had always taught him. Instead of reacting impulsively, he chose to calm down and pray, holding on to the hope that justice would eventually prevail.

Kelvin shared that his father constantly reminded him never to be the one to start trouble and to remain defensive in difficult situations. Remembering those words helped him restrain himself during one of the most emotional moments of his life.

Patricio Miranda was involved in a vehicular accident in April after the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a van. The incident eventually led to his death.

As of now, a case has already been filed against the driver involved in the accident. While Kelvin continues to grieve the loss of his father, he said he remains hopeful that justice will be served.
