“Nag-undergo siya ng quintuple heart bypass. Ngayon, okay na siya, safe na siya sa ICU so thank you sa mga doctors niya,” said Martin.

Just a day earlier, Martin had appealed to the public for blood donations, saying they urgently needed 16 bags of blood for the surgery. He explained during the interview that they had borrowed blood units from the Philippine Heart Center and still needed additional donations to replenish the supply.

According to Martin, they have already secured six bags of blood and are still looking for ten more.

Earlier, the actor had shared online that his father would undergo a triple bypass surgery. However, he later clarified that doctors discovered a far more critical condition.

“Fatal 'yun e, 'yung limang bara. Usually, 'yung tatlong bara is nakakamatay, but 'yung lima, nakuha namin nang maaga 'yung dad namin,” Martin said.

Emphasizing how fortunate they were that his father's condition was detected before it became too late.

Medical references explain that a bypass surgery is performed when coronary arteries become blocked, preventing sufficient blood flow to the heart muscle. In the procedure, surgeons use healthy blood vessels taken from other parts of the body to create new pathways that allow blood to reach the heart.

Experts also note that a quintuple bypass surgery is considerably more extensive than a triple bypass because surgeons must identify and use five healthy donor vessels. This type of procedure is relatively rare and is often required when coronary artery disease has become more widespread.

Despite the difficult experience, Martin's latest update brought relief to many supporters who had been following his family's situation. His message also highlighted the importance of timely medical intervention and the generosity of blood donors, whose contributions continue to play a vital role in his father's recovery.
