During his guest appearance on Susan Enriquez's "Kay Susan Tayo! Vlogs," Jeric openly spoke about the realities of having a large family. While he did not deny the struggles that came with it, he also reflected on the sacrifices he made to provide for all of his children.
Jeric began by reminding viewers that having many children was far from easy and should not be imitated. Stressing the challenges of balancing responsibilities, he said, “Hoy huwag niyo akong gagayahin ha. Mahirap ang time management, hindi uubra doon 'yung time management niyo.”
He went on to share that there were times when life became extremely difficult, especially when work became scarce. Jeric recalled that despite the financial hardships and the decline of the local movie industry, he remained determined to support all of his children.

Describing that difficult period, he said, “Naku, gagapang ka sa hirap. Walang trabaho. Pero itinawid ko 'yung 18 na ‘yun sa panahon na patay ang movie industry.”
To make ends meet, Jeric revealed that he explored several sources of income outside of acting. He said he ventured into buying and selling vehicles, building and selling houses, and taking on construction projects involving roof trusses and roofing.
Aside from those businesses, Jeric also accepted singing engagements in Japan, even though he admitted that singing was not exactly his strongest skill.
Recalling those performances, he shared, “Pakanta-kanta ka lang, hindi ka marunong kumanta. Bawat pupuntahan namin na bar, tatlong kanta, lilipat na naman kami. Lagari rito, tatlong kanta roon, lagari doon. Ang kantang lagari namin, ganito kalalayo ha. Two months, three months, babalik na naman.”
Jeric also explained why he often performed alongside female celebrities during those overseas engagements. According to him, having a female artist with him helped attract more audiences to the bars where they performed.
Sharing that experience, he said, “Pupunta lang ako doon ‘pag may kasabay akong artistang babae. Kasi kung ikaw lang na lalaki, hindi ka panunuorin doon. Kailangan ang kasama mo, babae, para pag dumating yan, ang viewer Hapon, ang viewer Pinoy, may kasamang Pinay-Pinay, matutuwa naman doon.”
