Carr shared his disappointment during an interview held for the Viva All Star Games in Quezon City, where he addressed the growing number of posts involving Baterbonia’s story.
"Ang daming fake news, ang daming tao na pinagkakakitaan. It's very outrageous. Very... I don't know how to describe it. It's very inhumane for me," he said.
The former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate emphasized that while he supports those seeking justice for Baterbonia, he believes some individuals have crossed the line by turning the tragedy into online material.

"Just let the person rest na lang," he stressed.
Carr explained that he understands why Baterbonia’s family continues to speak out, but he questioned the intentions of others who have joined the conversation online.
"'Yung family, maiintindihan mo 'yung family... Pero 'yung ibang mga tao kasi, parang feeling ko mema na lang 'yung mga ginagawang content about him," he admonished.
Beyond his public statement, Carr also revealed his personal connection with Baterbonia, whom he knew during his college years at Ateneo de Davao University. At the time, Baterbonia served as captain of the school’s high school basketball team, and Carr had opportunities to train and play alongside him.
"Actually, when I was in Ateneo Davao nung college, siya po 'yung captain ng high school. So, nakakasama rin namin po sila mag-ensayo dati and we played na rin sa mga exhibition games," he recalled.
"I really got to know the kid. Magkakilala po talaga kami," he added.
Following Baterbonia’s passing, Carr previously shared a tribute on Instagram, expressing gratitude for the chance to have shared the court with him. He also highlighted the athlete’s contributions to the Ateneo de Davao community and the Davao region.
"The Ateneo de Davao community is incredibly proud of the legacy and glory you brought to our school and to the entire Davao region," he said.
Carr continued to honor Baterbonia’s influence beyond basketball, remembering him as someone whose impact reached many people.
"Your impact goes far beyond basketball, and your inspiration will live on in the hearts of many. Fly high, Mr. MVP."
