Although he was originally employed as a waiter, Herrera eventually earned opportunities to perform during the ship's entertainment programs. He recalled that making the audience laugh for the first time became a defining moment in his journey.

“The stage felt like my home,” he said.

That realization encouraged Herrera to return to the Philippines and chase a career in theater. He auditioned for various productions until he landed roles that eventually led him to Rock of Aegis, which he considers his biggest breakthrough on stage.

His success in theater soon opened more doors in mainstream entertainment, allowing him to appear in television projects including Forevermore, Your Face Sounds Familiar, and FPJ's Ang Probinsyano. Over the years, Herrera established himself as one of the industry's versatile performers, earning recognition for both his comedic talent and acting skills.

Reflecting on his journey, Herrera said that his experience—from working in hospitality to becoming a performer—taught him the importance of listening to his instincts and embracing his authentic self instead of trying to fit into someone else's expectations.
