In the series, Caloy serves as the longtime boxing rival of Nonoy, played by Neil Ryan Sese. Nonoy is the father of MakMak, the young boxing hopeful portrayed by Anton Vinzon.
One of the most controversial storylines involved Caloy allegedly spreading a private video scandal involving Nonoy and another man. The incident destroyed Nonoy's boxing career and dramatically changed the direction of his life.

Before allowing the young boxer back into the gym, Caloy imposed a humiliating condition that Nonoy accepted. The father agreed to walk while wearing a gown just so his son could continue pursuing his boxing dream.
Meanwhile, tension continues to build as Lance, Caloy's son portrayed by Bruce Roeland, also begins targeting MakMak after recognizing the latter's promising talent inside the ring.
Because of these story developments, many viewers have openly expressed their anger toward Caloy on social media. The negative reactions eventually reached Wendell himself.
