Royce Cabrera, shares concern after unexpected incident at Sparkle Run event

Kapuso actor Royce Cabrera experienced a troubling incident after joining the Sparkle Run 2026 of GMA held on May 30, where his personal bag was reportedly stolen while he was participating in the event.

In his social media post, Royce expressed disbelief over what happened during the supposedly safe and organized activity.

“Akala ko hindi ito mangyayari sakin pero naranasan ko. Nanakawan ako ng bag during our event," he said.

He explained that he initially felt secure since his things were placed together with other participants’ belongings. However, he admitted that just a few minutes of distraction were enough for the theft to happen.

“Hindi ko inaasahan dahil naging abala kami sa event at naging kampante nako na ligtas na ang gamit ko,” he shared.

What made the situation more alarming for him was his belief that only specific items were taken.

“Pero isang bagay ang sigurado ako—hindi aksidente ang nangyari dahil sa lahat ng pwede mawala bukod tanging gamit ko lang talaga ang pinili mong kunin,” Royce said.

Despite the incident, he was able to track his belongings using his AirPods, which were inside the stolen bag. This helped him and authorities trace its location from Quirino Grandstand to Circuit Makati.

“From Quirino Grandstand napunta ng Circuit Makati,” he noted.

Royce later went with two police officers and a marshall to search for the bag, although he admitted he nearly lost hope after several failed attempts.

“Sa ilang beses naming pag-iikot tila ba nawalan nako ng pag-asa mahanap pa,” he said.

Eventually, the bag was found near a parked area inside the mall, left open with all zippers unsealed. Inside were missing items including car keys, a sweat-soaked towel, clothing, a 5K finisher medal, and his AirPods case.

Royce also thanked the responding officers and event marshal for assisting him, and said he plans to file a police report and request CCTV footage review as part of his next steps.

Royce Cabrera is a Filipino actor, model, and construction engineer who initially gained recognition in the indie film circuit, notably starring in the acclaimed movie Fuccbois.
