The discussion centered on earlier remarks that sparked online backlash after Mariel was quoted saying she did not want Robin to run again in 2028. Senator Imee brought up the issue directly, recalling confusion over Mariel’s previous statements.
“Will you like na tuloy-tuloy pa niya yung politika kasi Nakita ko minsan. Nagpanic ako noon, Nagsabi kasi siya na hindi na siya tatakbo ng 2028,” Imee said.
She added, “Tapos meron kang statement na they don't deserve him. Sabi ko ‘Ayaw na rin ng asawa,’ Paano to?”

Mariel clarified the intent behind her viral remark, stressing it was aimed at critics.
“Actually, yun ang ano ko because ang pinag-uusapan noon was when those, when the people, when I said they don't deserve him, I'm talking about those who say bad things about him. They do not deserve him,” Mariel said.
She further emphasized that many sectors continue to depend on Robin’s work.
“But there are so many people, the muslims, the indigenous groups, ang daming people na umaasa sa kanya,” she added.
Senator Imee agreed with her concerns about unfinished work in public service, saying:
“Kawawa talaga sila. Hindi pa po tapos 'yung mga ung mga dapat.”
Mariel then made her strongest clarification about Robin’s possible political future.
“For me, hindi pa po tapos. For me marami pang marami pang hindi ah natutuunan ng pansin,” she said.
Imee reinforced the sentiment saying, “At ang daming taong umaasa lang sa kanya. Ano ba?”
Mariel concluded by agreeing with the idea that there is still more to be done in public service, keeping the discussion open about Robin Padilla’s possible return to politics despite his earlier statement that he would not run in 2028.
