Rochelle Barrameda became emotional while recalling the tragic death of her sister, Ruby Rose Barameda, in an interview with GMA Public Affairs shared on YouTube.

During the conversation with journalist Cara David, the actress looked back on the painful years their family spent searching for Ruby Rose, who went missing on March 14, 2007.
Rochelle revealed that they searched for her sister for more than two years before authorities finally recovered her remains.
“Searching kami for a long time. 2 years, 3 months to be exact,” she said.

The actress also narrated how alarmed she became after learning that all of Ruby Rose’s phones were suddenly turned off.
“HindI nag-o-off ng phone si Ruby,” Rochelle recalled.
According to the celebrity, they immediately went to hospitals and different locations while trying to seek help from authorities. However, she said they initially struggled because the case could not yet be declared a missing person case within the first 48 hours.
In the interview, Rochelle shared disturbing details about how her sister’s body was eventually found inside a drum filled with cement in the waters of Navotas.
“Ganun kasi iba drum lang. Pero ito talagang parang pinerfect,” she said.
The actress also spoke about the emotional impact of the tragedy on their family. She admitted that she nearly lost her marriage because all of her attention was focused on seeking justice for her sister.
“Kinalimutan mo pati career mo. Ang focus ko kailangan magkaroon ng justice yung kapatid ko,” Rochelle said.
She added that their family also experienced financial difficulties because of the long legal battle tied to the high-profile case.
According to Rochelle, they even had to mortgage their home while pursuing the case.
The personality became emotional while talking about her father’s continued efforts to follow up the case personally despite his age and health condition.
“Hindi kami titigil,” she stressed during the interview.
Rochelle also reflected on how deeply connected she was to Ruby Rose, saying they grew up extremely close to each other.
“So nung nawala siya, kalahati ng buhay ko wala,” she shared.
The actress expressed frustration over the slow progress of the case but maintained hope that justice would still come someday.
“Hindi dapat kinakalimutan yung mga ganitong kaso,” Rochelle said.
