"Sa mga minamahal kong nagtitiwalang mayors, maraming maraming salamat po! Tuloy lang ang ating serbisyo sa Batangueño bilang isang pamilya!" the now-viral online post read.
Vilma also emphasized that her primary focus remains the welfare of the Batangueños. She shared that the goal of their service is to ensure that Batangas remains sturdy with their leadership and governance.
The post has since earned several comments since it was made amid the claims made by Rep. Leandro Leviste concerning the "Bawat Barangay Makikinabang" program. Vilma Santos, also known as Ate Vi and the Philippines’ Star for All Seasons, is a famous actress and public servant with a career that has lasted for decades. She started acting as a child and became widely known after starring in the film Trudis Liit, which earned her a major acting award at a young age. She also played the iconic role of Darna in several movies. Later in life, she entered politics and served as Mayor of Lipa City before becoming the first female Governor of Batangas. She is married to Senator Ralph Recto, and they have a son named Ryan Christian, while she also has a son, Luis Manzano, from her previous marriage to actor Edu Manzano.
As previously reported by KAMI, Vilma Santos reassured supporters amid concerns linked to recent allegations. The Batangas governor expressed gratitude for the continued prayers and support. She acknowledged facing challenges but emphasized serving with sincerity. Vilma urged the public to stay positive and not be affected by negativity.
Meanwhile, Batangas Governor Vilma Santos clarified that the viral video of her press interview was misleading and taken out of context. Her office said the clip was edited and shared in parts which created a false idea that she was insulting the public. The statement explained that the governor was actually talking about the danger of fake news and online bashing and reminding people to check information before sharing. The Batangas provincial government urged everyone to verify sources and be careful online to avoid spreading misinformation and division.
