Mika Salamanca has finally addressed the growing speculation surrounding her and fellow actor Will Ashley following their recent trip to Bangkok, Thailand, where their photos quickly went viral online.

The two stars, who are collectively dubbed by fans as “MikWil,” became the center of online buzz after posting coordinated photos in matching school uniforms. The images, taken during their vacation in Thailand’s capital, led many netizens to assume that the pair had officially confirmed a romantic relationship through what is commonly referred to as a “hard launch.”
However, both Mika and Will clarified that there is no such confirmation.
During a block screening event hosted by Mika for the film Huwag Kang Titingin, the two addressed the rumors in an interview featured on the “Chika Minute” segment of the Kapuso news program 24 Oras. Mika immediately dismissed the speculation when asked if the photos were meant to confirm anything about their relationship.

“Hindi naman,” Mika said.
Will further explained that their trip was simply a well-deserved break from their demanding schedules. According to him, the vacation was not exclusive to just the two of them, as they were also accompanied by friends throughout their stay in Bangkok.
“Masaya kasi kasama rin namin 'yung ibang friends namin, so talagang naikot namin 'yung buong Bangkok at nakakain din kami ng masasarap na food,” Will shared.
He added, “Kumbaga na-enjoy din namin 'yung day off namin after ng napaka-busy na schedule.”
Mika echoed the same sentiment, emphasizing that the trip allowed them to rest and recharge.
“Nakapagpahinga po talaga,” she said.
As for their now-viral photos, Will clarified that these were simply inspired by a popular social media trend. He revealed that they came across a nearby shop offering uniform rentals, which made it easier for them to participate.
“Sobrang cute din kasi nung trend so ayun sakto merong malapit sa amin nung uniform na nagre-rent. Tinry lang namin,” Will explained.
Despite the clarification, the pairing continues to draw attention online, with fans still expressing excitement over their undeniable chemistry. For now, however, Mika and Will remain firm that there is nothing more to the photos than a fun and memorable trip shared with friends.
