Actress Shaina Magdayao opened up about her enduring identity as a Kapamilya while embracing a new chapter in her career through the TV5 series My Bespren Emman. Speaking at a recent press conference, she reflected on how her roots continue to shape her as both an artist and an individual.

“I think dumating na rin po sa point na buhay ko bilang isang tao at isang artista na kahit saan ako magtrabaho, kahit saan ako dalhin ng career ko hindi mawawala sa DNA ko ang maging isang Kapamilya,” Shaina said.

The actress began her journey at a young age under ABS-CBN’s talent arm, now known as Star Magic, where she was personally discovered by Johnny Manahan. Her early exposure to the industry laid the foundation for the career she continues to build today.

Despite moving across networks, Shaina expressed appreciation for the opportunity to work on meaningful projects.

“Siyempre sila (ABS-CBN) ‘yung station na nag-raise sa akin at kung sino ako dahil din sa ABS-CBN, I’m grateful dahil napahiram ako because dahil sabi ko nga, this is an answered prayer (My Bespren Emman),” she shared.

Now taking on more mature roles, Shaina noted the shift from playing the youngest in the family to portraying a mother figure. This transition, she said, is influenced by the wisdom she gained from seasoned actors she worked with in the past.

“Dahil nu’ng teenager days ko si Mama ang kasama ko sa Tanging Ina, isa siya sa naging modelo rin sa akin,” she said.

She was referring to Ai Ai delas Alas as one of her role models throughout her journey.

As My Bespren Emman premieres on TV5, Shaina continues to evolve, carrying with her the lessons and inspirations that shaped her journey.
