"Since I was born, bingi ako sa kanan kong tenga," he said.

His parents only discovered his condition when they noticed that he would often turn toward a specific direction whenever he was called, which later led to medical confirmation when he was around four years old.

He shared that he has long accepted his condition and sees it as part of who he is rather than something that limits him.

"And honestly, I embrace my impairment, if I would even call it that," he said.

He also revealed that he has never used hearing aids and continues to live comfortably with his condition.

Inside the PBB house, Arce learned Filipino Sign Language, an experience he said felt more aligned with his identity as a Filipino.

"Filipino siya. Filipino na sign language," Joaquin said.

He explained that it helped him better understand and connect with the deaf community in a more personal way.

He also highlighted how important precision is in sign language communication.

"You have to be super specific," he said.

The experience encouraged him to consider future involvement in charitable efforts and advocacy for the deaf community.

Arce also reflected on the meaning of sign names within the signing community.

"It's like a medal," he said.

He described it as a form of respect and recognition given by the community.

As he continues his journey in the entertainment industry, Arce hopes to stay true to himself.

"I want to be remembered as being myself," he said.

Aside from his acting career, he is also focused on finishing his college studies, improving his skills, and continuing his personal development.

Meanwhile, Joaquin Arce also addressed being labeled a “nepo baby,” saying that he is not offended by the remark. He expressed gratitude for having a supportive and hardworking family behind him. Joaquin also spoke about his stepmother Angel Locsin, whom he credited for her guidance and for standing up for him publicly. He recently gained attention after finishing as the third big placer in PBB Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0 together with Ashley Sarmiento.
