She added that attending multiple wakes and memorials back-to-back became one of the most difficult experiences they had to face as a family.

Despite the heartbreak, Janine revealed that the experience also strengthened their bond.

Janine kept noting how they leaned on each other for support during that time.

The actress also reflected on how grief reveals genuine relationships.

“Totoo pala na maaalala mo talaga kung sino yung nagpunta doon para sa’yo,” she said.
“More than a birthday, more than a success, kung sino yung nakiramay sa’yo, sobrang ma-appreciate mo talaga.”

Janine admitted that grief still affects her today

“Yeah, oo. Super,” she said.

She explained that memories often resurface unexpectedly through simple triggers like scents or familiar places.

“When you lose someone, parang all of a sudden may maalala ka na, ‘Oh my God, kaamoy ni Mamita,’ tapos parang siyempre, parang maiyak ka,” she shared.

Rather than suppressing her emotions, Janine chooses to embrace them.

“If you feel sad, then i-feel mo,” she said.
