Miss Grand International 2025 Emma Mary Tiglao recently shared a personal dining experience that left her shaken, prompting her to speak out online about the importance of respect in customer service.

In a social media post, Tiglao explained that she rarely vents on the internet but decided to recount the incident so others could be aware and possibly learn from it.

According to Tiglao, she and her family visited a seafood restaurant earlier in the day for lunch. Excited to enjoy one of their favorite cuisines, they ordered two seafood bundles with specific sauce selections that included chili garlic, Cajun, and butter garlic.

When the dishes arrived, however, the sauces did not match what they had requested. Tiglao said the order contained two Cajun sauces and one butter garlic instead of the chili garlic option they had chosen.

She said they calmly informed the staff about the mix-up but were told the food could no longer be changed because it had already been prepared. Rather than escalate the situation, Tiglao said they simply asked if they could receive a small serving of chili garlic sauce on the side.

The restaurant staff eventually granted the request and provided the sauce complimentary, which Tiglao said they appreciated.

The situation took a turn, however, when the family later prepared to have the remaining food packed for takeout. Tiglao claimed she overheard a waiter make a remark behind them.

“ANG KAPAL NG MUKHA,” the waiter allegedly said.

Tiglao said the comment left her shaken and uncomfortable. She emphasized that as a business owner herself, she constantly reminds her team that kindness and professionalism should always guide customer interactions.

Despite the incident, Tiglao noted that the restaurant’s assistant manager later apologized for the waiter’s behavior.
