TV host and celebrity 'Kuya' Kim Atienza gave his followers a blast from the past recently, sharing a memorable clip from an old talk show that detailed a personal anecdote from his youth.

The vintage footage, taken from an episode of the now-defunct ABS-CBN showbiz talk show The Buzz, featured famous hosts Kris Aquino and Boy Abunda discussing a rumored pursuit of singer-actress Vina Morales by the then-young politician and media personality, Kim Atienza.

The video showed Kris Aquino reporting on a piece of entertainment news about the two celebrities. The graphic on the screen clearly read, "KIM ATIENZA, HINAHABOL SI VINA!"

The segment centered on the news that 'Kuya' Kim, who was then a councilor, had reportedly followed Vina all the way to Las Vegas to watch her concert. Kris's on-air statement, which included a rhetorical question about Atienza replacing Vina's past flame in her heart, added a dramatic flair to the scoop. "Does this mean na si Councilor Kim Atienza na ang ipapalit ni Vina sa puso niya after Congressman Miguel Zubiri? Let's find out from Vina," Kris was even heard saying.

Vina herself was also featured in an interview clip within the segment, expressing surprise. "Nagulat ako actually, hindi ko ine-expect na andun siya," she said, adding that while she didn't believe he was "courting" her, he was "very open" about his feelings towards her. Boy Abunda followed up on the report, noting that Atienza had been linked to other celebrities at the time, but ultimately concluded that Atienza was a "good-looking, good man" and a former ballet dancer.

In the caption accompanying the throwback video, 'Kuya' Kim Atienza reflected on how much times have changed, contrasting the era of the scoop with the present day. "It was the 90s, life was very different. We were young, carefree and bold! There was no social media, we communicated verbally and with 5210 Nokias and Easycall pagers only when necessary," he wrote online.

He also highlighted the enduring, positive relationships that emerged from that time, "Life has turned out well for Vina, myself, and all. Kris Aquino became Felicia's and my wedding ninang and Boy became the ninong of our first born Jose," delighting many of his fans on the app.
