Actress and public servant Aiko Melendez took to social media to share a heartfelt birthday message for her daughter, Marthena Jickain, who celebrated her special day in a meaningful way.

On her Facebook post, Melendez expressed her pride and joy as Marthena chose to spend her birthday with children from Safe Haven, a shelter for those in need.
“Happy Birthday, Marthena Jickain. Today, you chose to spend your special day with the children from Safe Haven and seeing you with them fills me with so much happiness. Your kindness is truly innate, and I’m deeply grateful to the Lord for blessing me with a daughter like you,” she wrote.
Melendez also opened up about her journey as a single mother, admitting that while she may not be perfect, she strives to always be present for her children.

“I may not have been a perfect mother, but I always try my best to be there whenever you need me. Being a single mom is no easy task, but watching you grow into a fine young lady is the greatest reward I could ever ask for,” she said.
