Actress and former politician Marjorie Barretto expressed her heartfelt gratitude to supporters following her unsuccessful run for public office in the recent elections.

Marjorie had sought a seat as a councilor in District 1 of Caloocan City but did not secure a win.
In a message posted on social media, she remained gracious in defeat, thanking the over 112,000 people who voted for her.
“Hindi man tayo pinalad… Lumaban tayo ng patas,” she wrote.

“Maraming Salamat sa 112k votes. Grabe kayong magmahal, District 1! Pinaramdam ninyo sa akin yan saan man ako nagpunta.”
Barretto acknowledged those who supported her campaign without expecting anything in return.
“Sa lahat ng tumulong at nagtiwala ng walang kapalit, MARAMING SALAMAT!” she said, expressing deep appreciation for their trust and efforts.
Despite the outcome, Barretto emphasized that her desire to serve the public remains.
“Hindi po tayo nagtatapos dito, pahinga lamang po ako ng kaunti at sa tulong ng Diyos matutupad pa rin ang mga pangarap ko para sa inyo ng hindi kailangan ng posisyon,” she added.
She concluded her message by reflecting positively on her campaign journey.
“Grateful for the memories and the people I met along the way,” she wrote, signaling her continued commitment to her community.
Supporters flooded her post with messages of encouragement, commending her for running an honest campaign and for remaining grounded and hopeful even in defeat.
Marjorie Barretto is a Filipino actress and the sister of Claudine and Gretchen Barretto. She has five children from her past relationships: one with actor Kier Legaspi (Dani), three with ex-husband Dennis Padilla (Julia, Leon, and Claudia), and one with former Caloocan mayor Enrico Echiverri (Erich).
