Ed Caluag respects netizens opinions about him, thanks bashers for popularity

Ed Caluag who became a subject of online meme shared his life story which was featured in Kapuso Mo, Jessica Sojo where he gained popularity.
As a young boy, Ed who was a carpenter's son had polio and later diagnosed with rheumatic heart disease which kept made him stay at home for two years.
He would just watch other children play but he later got bored and seek to enjoy playing with other children.
“Gusto ko talagang lumabas, gusto kong maglakad, gusto kong maging normal, gusto kong makipaglaro,” he says. “So unti-unti, pag wala ‘yung nanay ko, bumababa ako du’n sa aking rocking chair. Humahawak ako sa mga gilid, pinipilit kong maglakad. As in talagang struggle, as in talagang masakit, mahirap.”
He found friends and played with them without knowing where they live. He just assumed they live nearby.
He found out one day that it was only him who sees these kids.
“Sabi ko, ‘Eh ‘yung bata dito na natin pakainin.’ Sabi niya, ‘Sinong bata?’ Wala naman daw bata,” he said.

He was able to recognize his difference and learned to cast spells to help other people in need.
His ability to foresee the future gave him guilt feelings because despite seeing his father's death through a vision, he was not able to stop it from happening.
“Sana man lang kako hindi ko na siya pinakain ng mangga,” he says. “Naisip ko bakit pinabayaan ko pa siyang kumain?”
Netizens poked fun of him and some sympathized when he appeared in an episode of KMJS where his prediction did not coincide with the scientific and factual investigations done by the show.
“Try ninyo munang alamin ano ba ang nasa likod namin bago kayo magsalita, bago kayo magsabi na mali kami, na palpak kami, hindi kami tama,” he says. “Kilalanin ninyo muna kami.” he added addressing to those online bashers.
Ed Caluag had appeared as a paranormal investigator on television, including appearances on KMJS segments Bato-Bato Sa Langit, Manila City Hall from Gabi Ng Lagim VI, and Palaka.
