Jackie Lou Blanco, a respected veteran in Philippine showbiz, has opened her heart about the grief of losing two of the most important people in her life — her mother, the iconic Pilita Corrales, and her former husband, actor-director Ricky Davao, within the span of just one month this year.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News held at The Heritage Park in Taguig, where loved ones gathered to pay their respects, Jackie Lou spoke about the grief that her family is enduring.

"Actually, a lot of people who have come to extend their condolences, when they see us, they kinda don't know what to say. They just look at us and hold our hands kasi parang they understand kung gaano kabigat na magkasunod," she shared, reflecting on their family's back-to-back losses.

The actress expressed how the passing of both her mother and ex-husband has affected them.

"Yun yung difficult part kasi we're all grieving pa for my mom and now naman si Ricky. Although Ricky has been sick since December, we all also kinda knew na na baka the end was near, but we didn't expect it to be this soon. It's been very difficult," Jackie confessed to the media recently.

The pain of losing two loved ones in a month, according to Jackie, still feels surreal, "Ako nga, I can't still believe that my mom's gone, lalo na that's Ricky's gone, lalo na for my children."

Pilita Corrales, known as Asia's Queen of Songs, was a towering figure in Philippine music, and her passing left a void not just in her family, but in the entire local entertainment industry.

Now, the family is mourning Ricky Davao, an acclaimed actor, director, and a devoted father.
