Mariel Padilla, TV host and actress, recently took to Instagram to pay tribute to her husband, Senator Robin Padilla, not just for his public service—but for being a hands-on and present father.

"Isa sa pinaka-proud ako kay Robin ay siya yung what people call a 'PRESENT FATHER' sa mga anak niya," Mariel wrote in her caption, before adding, "Kaya naman every time we get a chance to bond, even without our cameras, ay napaka hands-on niyang tatay to Isabella and Gab."

The post, shared on Friday, April 11, featured a touching video of their daughters tearfully bidding farewell to their father at the airport as he left for The Hague, tugging at the hearts of netizens..

"But, I know his heart," Mariel continued, and said, "Gusto niyang mag-serve sa bayan, kaya as a wife, I support him even when it means na malayo siya sa amin for a while."

The couple had recently been on a family trip to Thailand, which had to be cut short afterward.

However, despite the change in plans, Mariel emphasized how grateful she was that Robin still made time for them and their two adorable children, prompting netizens to praise him too.

"Nonetheless, kahit na-cut ang Thailand trip naming family, I know we made lots of memories that the kids will cherish forever!"

The post touched many followers, including Robin’s sibling, BB Gandanghari, who expressed deep emotion after watching the video, "I've watched it, nalungkot ako para sa mga kids when you're in the airport na. Kitang kita mo talaga yung lungkot nila dahil paalis na Papa nila... Hugs," BB wrote.
